At East Bay Roots LLC, the landscape is our classroom. We act as devoted observers, caretakers, and learners. In the age of tech-driven learning, we return to our roots: 100% outdoors, all-weather, all year. Our mission is to help your child foster a deep connection to nature from a young age. We promote this daily through an outdoor curriculum, hiking, and play-based experiences. With the whole child in mind, our educators nurture critical thinking and enrich the soul. The curriculum is rooted in children's interests, inquiries, and play patterns. This approach blends play-based and nature-based learning in an organic way, engaging and motivating young naturalists.
Our Story
East Bay Roots, LLC was founded on a passion to connect young people with nature, a drive to reimagine traditional education, and a dedication to holistic learning. School should spark curiosity, welcome questions with enthusiasm, and foster exploration and experimentation. There’s no better classroom than our natural landscapes, and by tapping into children’s natural urge to engage with the environment, nature-based education helps students build curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking—laying the groundwork for a lifelong love of learning.
Our Vision
At East Bay Roots LLC, we believe that nature education should be available to everyone. It is our vision to invite more individuals to explore their relationship to nature through being immersed in it. We strive to connect and educate people, and provide an inclusive space where children feel comfortable, safe, and empowered. Everyone deserves access to the outdoors, and we plan on developing programs like a second-hand lending library and tuition support to help curb the steep costs of outdoor education and gear.
